The Song Room

Every Wednesday night Hamlet hosts a live music show called The Song Room in a bar called The Globe in the heart of Dublin city centre. The Song Room is now over 2 years old and has grown to become one of Dublin’s busiest regular live music nights. Hamlet plays, MC’s and invites guest acts each week that vary from foreign artists on tour to rising acts from round Ireland. The standard is high and it’s always a buzzing and fun night. About Hamlet Sweeney live

Hamlet plays live in many different forms, from solo with an acoustic guitar up to playing with his full 5 piece backing band The Handsome Strangers. Many recent gigs have been built around Hamlet accompanied by Jay Wilson (Handsome Stranger no. 1) playing a variety of instruments like piano, clarinet, guitar, cajon and singing.

Anyone who has seen Hamlet live will know that he likes to have fun onstage. He chats to the audience, responds to whatever is happening around him, gets the audience involved and is known for impromptu performances out in the middle of the crowd or walking into strange parts of the venue and singing from there. A typical show will move from parts that make you laugh to moments where you could hear a pin drop.
